Close relative staying in U.S - Not favorably considered

Be truthful at this question. Visa Documents will have a record of this (about your brother/sister/Mother/Father) with them. If your distant aunt or uncle stays there, then you don't have to say about them. All that matters is your immediate relatives, i.e. own brother, sister, father or mother.

Any of your relative overstaying in US may not be favorable considered because the officers might think that you too have an intent of entering into united states for getting settled with your relatives.

You can mention about your friend who may have gone to the united states for their studies and successfully completed the course and returned back to India. So you must be careful while answering and your answer should never predict that you have an immigrant intent.
